Shower for the Showers

GSLC supports and encourages all individuals to pursue their passions and roles based on their skills and interests, not their gender. It also recognizes and responds to the ways in which our community continues to rely on “women’s work.”. 

On Sunday, GSLC will host a “Shower for the Showers.” Showers help individuals prepare for new roles and responsibilities while strengthening social bonds by bringing together friends, family, and community members to share in the joy of significant life changes. We need this container. And while showers are often organized and attended by women, reflecting historical social norms and gender roles, they are evolving to be more gender-inclusive as modern perspectives emphasize shared responsibilities in relationships and households, and celebrations transform to reflect the diverse nature of modern families and communities. 

All are welcome to GSLC’s “Shower for the Showers.” We will have cake and punch as we share the joy of a significant on-campus change that will mean new roles and responsibilities for our community.
